Frequently Asked Question

HOW CAN WE BOOK YOU? HOW CAN WE PAY?

If you’re ready to book, I’m available, and we love each other, I’m all yours with a signed contract and retainer. The balance in full is due one month prior to your wedding date. For portraits, the balance is due at the time of session. I accept payments via Pay Pal.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD WE BOOK?

It’s never too soon to ask… and it’s never too late to ask. I’ve booked weddings from 4 weeks to 18 months in advance! I operate on a “first come, first served” basis, so I suggest getting in touch with me as soon as you have a firm date. For portraits, 3 weeks notice will usually do the trick!

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER WE’VE BOOKED?

I’m pretty low-maintenance. I’d love to hear all about your plans, and I’ll be available to help you with questions, but I really don’t need anything from you… you can relax, check one thing off your list, and move on. A few weeks before the wedding I’ll send you a questionnaire to get all the details of your wedding in one place so that I can be prepared to rock it! For portraits, we’ll hash out the time and location details pretty quickly, and then we’re good to go.

AN ENGAGEMENT SESSION, REALLY?

Really! A complimentary engagement session is my gift to you. It allows us to get to know each other and establish a relationship without the pressure of a wedding. That means that on your wedding day you can relax and focus on having a great time, resulting in better photographs (and better memories). Plus, they are fun! But they aren’t mandatory – choosing not to use your engagement session does not alter the package price, nor is it replaceable by any other product or service. I suggest engagement sessions be done at least 3 months before your wedding.

DO YOU REQUIRE A MEAL AT OUR WEDDING?

Yes please! I am a human being who requires nourishment to sustain life, and weddings don’t typically come with lunch breaks. To stay alive and alert with a stable blood sugar level during your wedding, meals are requested for myself and my team (where applicable) for events over 4 hours. I promise we have excellent table manners!

DO YOU TAKE TRADITIONAL FORMAL FAMILY PORTRAITS AT WEDDINGS?

Yes, absolutely; usually right before or after your ceremony. I will get a list of the desired combinations from you in advance, and we’ll try to make it snappy. Pro-tip: plan for two minutes per combination to get everyone organized.

WILL THE PHOTOS BE RETOUCHED? WILL THERE BE BLACK & WHITE?

Each image is custom-edited for colour and contrast, and I use my, ahem, artistic discretion to choose whether colour or black & white is the best treatment. Light retouching will zap away blemishes and under-eye circles. My goal is to make you look the best, most well-rested version of yourself.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL WE RECEIVE?

It depends, but a full day of wedding photography typically results in anywhere from 400 to 600 final images. I will select only the best images from the day to share with you. Portrait clients can expect a minimum of 30 images.

WHEN WILL THE IMAGES BE READY?

For weddings, there will be a sneak peek on my blog within 4 weeks of your wedding, and all of your images will usually be available within 8 weeks. For portraits, images are typically available within 4 weeks of your session.

WILL WE GET OUR IMAGES ON A DISC?

You’ll receive all of the final images from your wedding or portrait session, edited and in high-resolution via we transfer.

DO WE GET THE COPYRIGHT?

No, the copyright stays with me. What you’ll receive is a personal print release, which means you can make all of the photobooks, prints, and cards your heart desires, as long as they are for you. You may not sell them or use them for any commercial purpose, including giving them
